Evangeline longfellow first edition
Ten plates of color lithographs. Black, white, and orange illustrations and decorative initials are at the poem's section heads. The top end of the text block has gilt. The spine strip and the bottom fourth of the front board have darkened a little. The back board has a 1 in. The front endpaper's folds is split in a ragged manner; the back one is less so. The splits are glued onto the hinges. The front FEP and blank page and the half-title page have closed tears and chips on the bottom end.
One page has a 3 in. It is tipped back together with glue, and the text remains in tact. Waviness and light water stain are on the pages and plates' bottom margins. Three stains are along the bottom edge of the back endpaper.
