Debian netinstall usb flash
Warning : The contents on your Flash Drive will be wiped out. Backup everything you want to save before proceeding. You can perform the following tasks to create a persistent partition on your bootable USB Debian Live flash drive. This feature allows you to save and restore some of your changes on subsequent boots.
If all goes well, you should now be booting into your Debian Live with persistence. In order to save and restore any changes you make, you need to perform steps 7 and 8 during each boot. Another option is to edit and add a permanent default persistent boot option to your existing boot menu by editing the grub configuration file. Internal ISDN cards are unfortunately not supported. You can download a couple of image files of small size, suitable for USB Sticks and similar devices, write them to the media, and then start the installation by booting from that.
There is some diversity in the support for installing from various very small images between the architectures. For details, please refer to the installation manual for your architecture , especially the chapter Obtaining System Installation Media.
Not all machines support booting from the network. Because of the additional work required, this method for installing Debian is not recommended for novice users. If any of the hardware in your system requires non-free firmware to be loaded with the device driver, you can use one of the tarballs of common firmware packages or download an unofficial image including these non-free firmwares.
Instructions how to use the tarballs and general information about loading firmware during an installation can be found in the Installation Guide. To report a problem with the web site, please e-mail our publicly archived mailing list debian-www lists.
