Blood bowl legendary edition wood elves tactics

And yet they do not have tackle or diving catch. Yes the wood elves steam rollered over me like the Chaos and Orcs do. No passing game from them at all. Yet in the Chaos Edition they do pass and throw the ball. Talking of which I have seen a undead mummie intercept a ball thrown by my Skaven thrower with pass, sure hands and accuracy. Yet my thrower with pass block can't even catch a ball thrown by a Norse player without any passing skills. I guess my career as a proffesional gambler will have to be put on hold till I can roll more than a 1 on all my dice rolls.

Mummies always flatten you when you run away? Either you're the unluckiest person ever or there's an added element in there you're missing out on. You sure the mummy doesn't have an adjoining player you're trying to break from too or something like that? Yea i've intercepted plenty of passes with crappy players but more often than not I don't, just have to try place players to put the ai off the pass or cover the people the pass will be going to.

Cover means adjoining square, not just nearby btw. Wood elves pass all the time on this version of the game for me. Yea they put the odd guy down on their turn if they get the chance but they get flattened on mine. I've been using Chaos btw to give you an idea. Crap handling, used to piss me off soooo much that I couldn't pick the ball up 1st time, even with a reroll loads of times. That meant I always had to do it last in my turn to prevent a turnover too early but i've put sure hands on a beastman and that really helped, only pick the ball up with that one player these days.

Or try to surround the ball so if someone fails then I have a chance it can bounce to an adjoining square and into someones hands. Oh, may as well add. I really really struggle with real time mode on this one to the point I don't play it. Maybe should try it again now I actually understand the basics of the game but i'm quite enjoying blitz. Just watched your vid there, sorry should have watched earlier.

Funny that I mentioned the pogo goblin going down easy if you hit him and he was the 1st one you put down and straight off the park lol. At the 2. They're beasts compared to the guy you hit them with that'd be a tough one for Rat Ogre. Speaking of that, where is your Rat Ogre? The ball holder you attacked gets assistance from the 2 guys in adjoining squares.

You prob didn't even get to choose a dice, he prob got 2 dice picks on you! That's what some people are meaning when they say the ai is useless enough in easy mode! Also, you did this 1st in your turn, if it had failed that would have been a turnover straight off without you moving anyone, try to play the risky moves later in your turn if you can!

At that point you could have broke your runner that was up the park away from the 1v1 adjoining orc. Due to agility that would be a less risky roll with a good chance of success.

You'd have got him into the end zone no problem if you broke. Then you could have ran the ball holder as far up the park as you could and then passed to the guy in the endzone! Nearly all the orcs in range were behind you at that point so you were actually making it less distance for them to travel to get to you. If you'd placed your players behind the ball holder the orcs would have to run round them to get to him.

Right, got to 10 mins and not much else essential to say, sorry I would watch more but i'm stuck using Sat broadband where I am just now with a crap limit and i'll get torn if use it all up lol. Hope the comments I've put help a little, please bear in mind i'm no expert but i've been winning most games so far lol!

Thank you for the reply its handy for someone with more experience to take a look and make pointers at the mistakes I made.

Rat Ogres I found are too expensive and unreliable. When I use them I often have them sat on their own doing their wild animal thing as I can't pass any of the dice rolls. At k gold its not worth the price. Only reason I did it. By doing this I now have a thrower that can throw halfway down the field to one of my Gutter Runners who can catch the ball.

We kick first, and if everything goes wrong and an opponent stalls until 8 turn, we can still score with a decent chance. The most fun part is that a blodger is hard to go down.

I play Cyanide game and my 1TTDM elf saved my ass several times, including matches against chaos with tentacles and dwarves with their usual stuff like tackle and MB. I should have posted this in Gutter Runner page, but you get the point of the advantages of having a 1 turn scorer. Dearmad Scoring with wood elves is very easy, since every elf is a scoring threat. This makes putting offensive skills on already awesome catchers seem less-than-smart.

Meaning the more options you have to get the ball back into the hands of your 11 scoring threats, the better chances you have of winning. You have failed to recognize that you can have 4 catchers on your team, so in reality having both builds is completely viable. Some coaches get hung up on the name of the player, instead of realizing it is just a game-piece with stats on it.

Consider yourself lucky that Coach even dignified your post with a response…. I have played all of the Elves and the only problem I have EVER had scoring is whether I want to score in 2 turns or run out the clock and usually get beat up in the process with the latter.

So, having a good defense is critical!! I know this topic is of an older date, but still. I have played the woodelf team for some years, and the guard skill on catchers are most important.

All the guard a woodelf team can get is vital. And guard on a catcher with MA 8 and the ability to dodge from birth makes them perfekt to get that skill. So if a catcher can dodge out of trouble himself AND help a teammate or two get 2 dices so they can block their way out of trouble is even better.

Ofcourse this must be in situations where the catcher stands unmarked after helping his friends stopping the potential cage forming in front of them. A wrestle skill can result in a foul if the catcher get skills-ups.

However the ease at which they can score may counteract that at times. They are probably on par with the high elves, a bit more fragile at the trade of a more explosive offence. If you can live with the frustration of high casualties, and high initial cost, then they give such high flexibility TDs can come from anywhere.

Unfortunately due to the high cost of postion players I have ended up with a team of linemen. My team roster always has a couple of players missing next game and I never have enough match winnings to buy any replacements other than lineman. I think once I have another 2 or 3 games I should be over the worst of it and have enough players to have subs for every match.

Focusing on your positionals and skilling them up as fast as possible…and then supporting the development of your linemen seems to be working out better for me. Sex Captain. Bad Mynock. View videos.
