Good company to start as a new amd young technician. However, the matrices used for promotion are ridiculous. Lack of proper communication leads to frustration in completing the work at times. Pros You are given all the tools needed for the jobs. Cons You are required to complete all jobs, even when the customer stop you from doing that job, You are required to be a salesperson on each job.
Was this review helpful? Yes No. Report Share. They firing people for no reason even people working many years they fired me for no reason after 3 years not a good place for advancement.
Poor management. Pros Work at home, incentives. Cons No stability, pay, management. Write your own paycheck Retention isn't for everyone.
However, the pay is pretty good. There isn't much work life balance if you plan to move up in the company. The more you work, the more you make generally.
The management is helpful, but pretty hands on. You are encouraged to work OT, a bit more than encouraged. The training, incentives, and sign-on bonus are great, but don't expect to have your commission handed to you. You CAN make a lot of money, but it isn't easy. Pros Commissions, incentives, work from home. Cons The medical benefits are horrible, the calls are challenging, and if you aren't ready to deescalate regularly, then don't apply. Pros Managers were pretty nice for the most part.
Cons Stressful, too many hats they want you to wear, big corporation, can send you all over the place for jobs. The benefits are a plus and the paid time off given but I do agree it is all about the numbers and metrics.
Pros Paid time off, benefits. Cons Short breaks, long hours, difficult and uncooperative customers. Yes No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. Do you enjoy working at your company?
I met some great people and the activities the company had were usually really fun. Very physical work. My management team was great but company has many absurd rules. Tech will always get the short end of the stick. Pros Management for me. Cons They make you work all day.
The actually work of installing satellite equipment and receivers isn't bad at all. In fact pretty enjoyable, but if you are not into door to door sales forget it.
Way to much stress on sales. If you don't hit there sales goals nothing else you do matters. Good compensation if you work hard and learn how to sale the way they want you to. Good compensation if you're willing to work hard and learn.
Untrustworthy company in terms of promotions and management. I had the unfortunate circumstance to have a manager tell an entire group of employees that no one will be getting a promotion even though we qualified for it and met all the metrics the first time around. Instead the management had us go through it all over again within a 3 month window. Ludicrous and completely unfair. Pros Good compensation. Cons Untrustworthy company, QA team is probably the worst I've ever experienced, If you say one wrong word or phrase on a call you can be let get go immediately without any warning, They can literally let you go for making one mistake.
Yes There are 4 helpful reviews 4 No. Very detailed training helps prepare you to succeed. Dish has a very good approach to training and is one of the few jobs I've ever worked that prepared me for my job so thoroughly. The job is a good one but the system of steamrolling everyone into tech support isn't the answer. The pay for t2 and t3 is enough to where people will decide if they want to work in tech support or not.
I was actually answering a sales position but during my first interview I was told that they no longer needed sales positions but had a customer service position. I accept and go through training then my very first coach tells me we are on a planned career path to tech support. As I stated I applied for sales was told I would be customer service then told I was hired to be tech support and imo that is just bad business. I'm good at what I do im not bitter I met all metrics made it to t3 right on time its just deceiving people does not provide a secure feeling in the company.
The metrics are already some of the hardest no need to be stressed thinking if you don't reach a certain metric level by a certain point in time you will be fired. Tell the truth from the beginning and you won't have to force anyone to tech they will apply.
Pros Hour lunches, WFH positions, thorough training. Cons Back 2 back calls, different information from all managers coaches etc. Jobs at DISH. Remote Customer Service Representative. It was stressful work. Long hours and being yelled at all day. Not fun. Management was very controlling.
It didn't matter what department you were in everyone takes all types of calls. Schedule changed constantly. Pros Good pay, employee discount. Cons forced overtime. Great pay great people. Lots of youngsters looking for commission, which is not a bad thing. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No. Was hired for retention. Training was for sales and different schedule. Uncapped commission yet pay says salary. There were constant changes in the rules and guidelines.
Yet you sometimes would get a tier for something very silly. I believe I was wrongfully terminated and right before Christmas. I had fmla issues Son broke leg and wife almost died from internal bleeding one month and in car accident another month.
I needed a doctors note to get a standing desk and they still had issues following it. Never got standing desk when sent home. There was bad management. No one to help I have pictures of proof waiting for someone to answer me back and in the office you could never find a manager. When you clocked in you had to be taking calls and very paranoid about extra aux time, meeting, training.
If you were not taking calls from start to finish of shift it affected pay and they did not like if your productivity number were low. But sometimes if you did not understand your job and needed help it would count against your productivity and you would not get help out of it. Unless what you learn in training. Going to the bathroom counts against you. Pros Cable cheap hiring bonuses. Cons Tiers, have to follow breaks at the time they tell you they can control the calls and you manage yourself.
Sell it all or else! Pretty simple. Dish used to again USED to be a great place to work. Then, suddenly. Some higher up in the show I'm not joking they mentioned this in training! Decided "Hey, Let's put sale's on our techs and make it a huge deal! Instead of making customer's happy. You must sell them junk! Your manager's only care about sales figures. Don't sell enough junk, You're out.
