Depending on the action done: If I try to modify or remove a file I just get a "Administrator pemissions are required to make changes in this file". If I try to copy and paste a file I get a "Insuficient space in Additional KB are required to copy this files". Just as you just described in your post Tried with permission, owners, auditing, heritage, safe mode In this case, I just wanted to modify some config file from a game to make it run better in my machine.

Nothing major. I have access to the WIndows App folder, but I cannot do anything inside the children folders, I have this padlock even when "Eveyone" is set with Full Control. To ilustrate:.

I don't know why Windows keep me out from these folders so insistently. Searching on the web, I found this happened to a lot of people, none of them solved it, so I don't know if this is a Windows problem, a configuration problem or maybe Windows just prevent all access deliberately.

In any case, unless windows do this on purpose, there must be a way to unlock these folders and files, but everything I tried failed miserably. Yeah, the more I think on it the more I believe they did this on purpose. I have the Xbox app and it show the padlock even in the volume mix menu and today I checked again and surprise, all the permissions were reverted to this "TrustedInstaller" user.

I don't know why they are preventing the access to those folders and keep reverting the permissions to avoid access to them, but because of this, they are basically killing Mods for games and preventing the edit of a lot of config files which helps when your are trying to optimize or configure a lot of options which don't appears in the menus.

The worst part is that this is relatively new, because I don't remember to have this problem some time ago when I bought and played Forza Horizon 3 from the microsoft store. Have same issue, can not modify files in game folders and install any modification like game translation. MS can you please confirm this is on purpose and if it will be possible in future?

Oh forget this, I've been on every thread and forum on the internet trying to find out how to access the files on my own computer. I noticed this today because my game wouldn't start anymore with an unknown error, and I couldnt try to see if something was wrong in the folder..

Juan JoseFernandez Romero. Children can also request access to content which parents can then approve or decline. Just as movies and TV shows are rated, each game includes a rating symbol that suggests the appropriate age for play, plus descriptions that give you a heads-up about certain content.
